As the first WNBA expansion team since 2008, the Valkyries are writing the playbook for the modern era WNBA franchise. When building the inaugural brand campaign, we set the intention to blend the vibrant culture of the Bay Area and the WNBA while recognizing that moments are most memorable when experienced for the first time. Showcasing iconic landmarks around Oakland and San Francisco, we invited fans to witness and participatein the birth of a new sports Franchise
This piece was developed in collaboration with creative agency Cartwright and produced by Avocados & Coconuts. This appeared across broadcast, digital, social media, and out-of-home platforms throughout the region, leading up to the home opener on May 16th against the Los Angeles Sparks.
